Rebel Hotel Company wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who rely on a screen reader, keyboard navigation, screen magnification or other assistive technology.
The standard we follow
This website is designed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. WCAG is the technical standard most often used to judge whether a website is accessible under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
What we have done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a link to skip to the main content.
- Text meets WCAG contrast requirements, including text placed over photographs.
- Images carry text alternatives, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- The homepage slideshow has a pause control, and it does not play automatically for visitors who ask their device to reduce motion.
- Pages follow a logical heading order, each navigation menu is labelled, and every newsletter field has a visible label.
- Links that open a new browser tab say so to screen-reader users.
- The layout adapts to small screens and to text enlarged up to 200 percent.
Third-party content
Some links lead to websites we do not control, including individual hotel websites, brand partners, the careers portal and social media. Their owners are responsible for their accessibility.
